Shuttle Bus Transportation

Shuttle buses to the 5K and 10K Start Lines will leave from Stanwix Street between Penn and Liberty Avenues (in front of Gateway T Station) from 6:15 a.m. - 7:15 a.m. for the 5K Start Line and from 7:15 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. for the 10K Start Line. Shuttle buses will run again from that location from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. for runners who parked at the start lines and need to return to their vehicles.

Shuttles are for registered participants only. No animals are allowed on the buses other than guide animals.

NOTE: There will be no transportation between the 5K and 10K start lines. Please be sure to check the bus destination prior to boarding.


Race organizers recommend that runners park Downtown before the race and ride one of the shuttle buses to each Start Line. A $5-$8 Sunday parking rate is available at many Pittsburgh Parking Authority garages Downtown. Click here for the map. For real-time parking information, please visit

Limited on-street parking is available near both the 10K and 5K start lines. Limited parking is available near the 5K start line in the Soldiers & Sailors Parking Garage starting at 6:00 a.m. or at the Forbes Semple garage.

Road Closures

Road closures for the Great Race on Sunday, September 29 will start at 6:30 a.m. and continue through 11:00 a.m. Streets in the Downtown, Uptown, Oakland and Squirrel Hill neighborhoods will be impacted.
