Enjoy Pittsburgh's Fall Fitness Classic by participating in the 14th Great Race 5K Run, which will kick off at 8:30 a.m. on September 28, 2008.
The predominantly downhill course for the 5K Run (3.1 miles) starts at Fifth Avenue and Atwood Street in Oakland, then turns onto the Boulevard of the Allies. The course is USATF certified. This course is ideal for runners who prefer a shorter distance as an alternative to the 10K Run. In 2007, there were 3,987 individuals registered for the 5K.
Portions of the proceeds are donated to the Richard S. Caliguiri Amyloidosis Fund in honor of race founder and late mayor of Pittsburgh, Richard S. Caliguiri. For more information on the 5K Run, please call The Great Race Hotline at 412-255-2493. |
