On Your Mark...
Parents, highlight Sunday, September 19, 2010 on your calendars. This marks the day of the 15th annual Dollar Bank Junior Great Race. For only $5 (day of event registration is $7), register your junior athletes in this non-competitive race for children 12 and younger. This year's Junior Great Race will take place at Point State Park.
Get Set...
Start setting examples for your children while they are young. Encourage them to participate this exciting day of family fun that promotes health and fitness. Parents can make this event more memorable for the kids by running with their children in the 1-Mile Fun Run, cheering them to victory in the 50-Yard Tot Trot or applauding their efforts in the Diaper Dash.

Beginning at noon the Dollar Bank Junior Great Race will be hopping. Children of all ages will enjoy meeting with favorite mascots, silly classes and face painters. The City of Pittsburgh Police, Fire and Emergency Units will be on site giving public safety lessons. Also, each registered child will receive a goodie bag. Plan to stick around for the post race raffle. Local retailers donated prizes for participants to win in the raffle. For more information about the Dollar Bank Junior Great Race, call Citiparks at 412-255-2493. Packet pick-up and late registration will begin at 10:30 on the day of the race.

All the children receive a commemorative ribbon upon completion of their event.

Competitions
One Mile Fun Run
The One Mile Fun Run is designed for youth ages 5 through 12. Parents are strongly encouraged to participate in this event with their children.
50 Yard Tot Trot
Is designed for tykes ages 4 and under who are capable of the running or walking the distance. Watch the adorable trot of kids running down a 50 yard walled chute to their own finish line as an announcer officiates the race.
Diaper Dash
Can't quite walk yet? Not a problem. The Diaper Dash allows for the youngest contestants to dash across protective mats. So if your child is starting to walk but isn't too solid on his/her feet, this is a safe bet.
