Runners – and walkers – will take to the streets of Pittsburgh on Sunday, September 30, for the 35th running of the Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. The Great Race, established in 1977 as a 10K race by the late Mayor Richard S. Caliguiri, has grown to include the 5K run/walk, running clinic, two-day exposition and children’s race.

Race organizers have announced a new fee structure for 2012 and encourage runners and walkers to REGISTER EARLY – AND WITH A FRIEND!

  NEW 2012 Registration Fees
  Now through July 31 $25/person

  Save $10 PER PAIR
Now through July 31
“2 for $40” discount (two individuals register together)

  August 1 or later $30/person

“The Great Race remains Pennsylvania’s largest 10K race – and is now the 10th largest 10K in the nation – but it isn’t just for serious runners,” according to Race Director Mike Radley. “The 5K run/walk continues to grow in popularity, and we encourage individuals of all ages and athletic abilities to join us on the last Sunday of September.”
