PITTSBURGH — P3R has announced road closures for the 2025 Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race, scheduled for September 27-28. More than 10,000 participants are expected to take part in events including the Diaper Dash, Tot Trot, Family Fun Run, 5K, and 10K.
Friday, Sept. 26
Liberty Avenue between Commonwealth & Stanwix will close at 7p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26 for construction of the finish line area. This section will remain closed through the conclusion of “One Great Weekend” on Sunday, Sept. 28.
Saturday, Sept. 27
Downtown road closures for the Dollar Bank Junior Great Race, held on Saturday, Sept. 27, will begin Downtown at 9 a.m. and remain closed until 11:30 a.m. A course map of the Junior Great Race is available

Sunday, Sept. 28
Race morning road closures on Sunday, Sept. 28 will begin Downtown near Stanwix Street at 5:30 a.m. Roads along the course will close at 6:30 a.m. and remain closed until 11:00 a.m. Streets in the Downtown, Uptown, Oakland, and Squirrel Hill neighborhoods will be impacted. Below is a list of approximate road closure times:

B - Forbes & Morewood Ave to Fifth Ave & Bigelow Blvd - 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
C - Fifth Ave at Bigelow Blvd to Fifth Ave at Robinson Street Ramp to Blvd - 6:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.
D - Fifth Ave at Robinson Street Ramp to Blvd to Commonwealth Place & Liberty Ave - 6:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Residents and visitors in the affected zones are advised to park vehicles outside the closure areas if they need to travel during the event. A course map of the 5K/10K is available

MEDIA CREDENTIALS: Media accreditation is required for access to key areas of the Junior Great Race and the Great Race, including the start and finish lines. To request credentials, email Kelsey Emch at kelsey.emch@P3R.org by Friday, September 26.
Media credentials can be picked up on race day at Volunteer Check-in located in the Board Room inside the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown Hotel.
